![]() With Play-by-post, Play-by-email, Online tools such as OpenRPG, and my weekly face-to-face games, I feel that there is room to enjoy them all. I mentioned the above to show that I am a fan of 3rd Edition, and at this point, I don't see why I would have to pick one edition while forsaking another. The purpose of my post is not to start an edition war or debate. There is a 'simplicity' and a 'take it and run with it' attitude that I (personally) just don't get out of 3rd Edition. (I know players of 1E probably say the same thing about 2E, and 3E). That said, I have to say that there is a 'soul' about 2nd Edition that I don't feel with 3E I can point to a couple of clear instances during the campaign where cool things have happened solely because of some of the options that you get when playing 3.5 - the ones I am thinking of have to do specifically with Feats, and they just would have never happened in 2nd Edition. I have learned to really enjoy 3rd Edition for what it is, and I am currentlyplaying inĪ great Iron Kingdoms campaign. I went by my storage unit and pulled three large boxes of 2nd Edition stuff out to take home with me, and have been looking through some of the GREAT stuff that came out for 2E. I know a lot of people find AD&D 2nd Edition as the least desirable edition of D&D, but the recent "love" thread got me thinking about the game. ![]()
